happn Charms and SuperCrush: How to Stand Out on happn
Looking for happn Charms? happn’s current way to signal interest openly is the SuperCrush. Here is how it works, how you get one and what to write.
If you are looking for happn Charms: happn’s help center and App Store listing no longer mention a Charm feature. The way to tell someone openly that you are interested is now the SuperCrush, a personalised message you can send before you have a Crush. The person gets a notification and can accept or refuse it.

What happened to happn Charms?
Older guides, including an earlier version of this page, describe "Charms" with daily limits for free and paid users. Those details are no longer confirmed anywhere official: happn’s current help center does not list a Charm feature, and the App Store description (updated in October 2026) names Likes, SuperCrush and the CrushTime game instead. If you still see an old term in your app, follow what the app itself shows.
How a SuperCrush works
- You can send a SuperCrush to someone even before you have a Crush with them.
- It is a personalised message: you react to something specific on their profile, such as a photo, their description or the place where you crossed paths.
- Unlike a Like, it is not secret. The person receives a notification and finds your SuperCrush at the top of their Messages.
- They can accept it or refuse it. If they refuse, they will not cross paths with you again in the app.
- A SuperCrush cannot be cancelled once sent. You can send another one to the same person 24 hours later, and it replaces the previous one.
Like, SuperCrush or Crush: the difference

How to get SuperCrushs
According to happn’s help center, a happn Premium subscription includes 5 SuperCrushs, and Premium subscribers can buy more in the happn store (from the "My Account" page). The App Store listing describes Premium as giving you the list of people who already Liked you and more SuperCrushs. Prices and options vary by country and are shown in the app.
When a SuperCrush is worth sending
Because you only have a few, keep them for profiles where a personal message has something to hold on to:
- You share a place or a routine, and you can mention it in general terms.
- Their profile has a detail you genuinely want to ask about.
- Your own profile is ready: a clear first photo, a few varied pictures and a short description.
Skip it when the profile gives you nothing to react to, or when you would only be sending the same line you send everyone.
What to write in a SuperCrush
A SuperCrush is a first impression in words. React to one thing, add a little of yourself, and make it easy to answer.
- About a photo: "That mountain hut in your third photo looks unreal. Was the hike worth it?"
- About their description: "You say you are on a quest for the city’s best ramen. I have a candidate, want to compare notes?"
- About where you crossed paths: "Looks like we both spend time around the market on Saturdays. Favourite stall?"
Stay general about places. "Around the market" is friendly; describing what someone wore or the exact time you saw them is not.
CrushTime: happn’s guessing game
CrushTime is still part of happn. When you are eligible, the app sends a notification: a grid of 4 profiles appears, and you guess which one already Liked you. The first try is free; to play again you use a SuperCrush. Choosing a profile sends that person a Like by default, so if they did Like you, you get a Crush. Common SuperCrush mistakes
- A copy-paste message: it reads exactly like what it is.
- Too much detail about the crossing: mentioning exact times or clothes feels like being watched.
- Sending one before your profile is ready: the notification brings them to your profile, so it has to be convincing.
- Sending several in a row to the same person: a new one only replaces the previous one, and silence is an answer too.
